Prologue re-writes
(still having trouble fine tuning that last line, but want to show that what Esu left behind was a curse and it relates to the mask and the earrings of his and it is a power that Oyo would need to fight the true evil/antagonist of the story)
In a world of chase and darkness, evil spirits have used you humans as slaves. The spirit Esu had a mysterious power over death and fortune. And he was thought to be the one to abuse his power to take control of your tribes. Out of the nine great spirits, I was chosen to kill him. Throughout the land, I searched and found nothing. Inside of his temple he left behind two treasures of his. Esu not only disappeared, but left behind this curse.
